'Ridiculous!' GB News guest rages in furious rant over migrant hotels

A GB News guest voiced his anger over a report that migrant hotel locations are being kept secret due to "privacy concerns." Leo Kearse spoke to GB News presenter Ben Leo as the pair looked at stories in Sunday's newspapers. The Telegraph has reported that communities are not being told about migrant hotels in their areas, because it would undermine the privacy of new migrants. They claim that the immigration status of those housed in the temporary accommodation cannot be shared with the public under new privacy rules. Asylum seekers have been accommodated across the UK in hotels, which has raised concerns with residents and councils as they haven't been informed.

Leo Kearse said: "This is ridiculous. So, we're protecting the privacy of those who have decided to illegally enter the UK? That's their choice. But now, for some reason, their privacy must be absolutely paramount? Never mind 12-year-old girls just trying to walk to school!"

He added: "If the parents knew, they would at least take them [children] in the car. They're not going to be walking along and being harassed by these guys. I think it's absolutely shocking."

A fellow GB News panellist defended the privacy reason, citing that the Labour Government is trying to close down the hotels and that they've been kept secret because of people "who want to burn them down."

Ben Leo argued: "Who wants to burn them down? Like who?"

Leo Kearse then interrupted and spoke about the recent anti-migrant protesters who clashed with police officers outside a hotel believed to house asylum seekers in Epping, Essex.

The leader of Epping Forest council, Chris Whitbread, called for the Bell Hotel to be shut down after an asylum seeker allegedly sexually assaulted a teenager.

Leo Kearse defended the protestors who clashed with cops, saying that they didn't want to burn down the hotel and that they were just "concerned local residents."

"These were just normal people who were concerned about their children," he argued.

Essex Police was forced to block a road with vans near the Bell Hotel at one point during the protest, with around 200 individuals having turned up.
