Leading 3-1 after the first leg at Parc des Princes, PSG travelled to England knowing they had one foot in the semi-final. And they made the perfect start on the night at Villa Park, taking the lead in the 11th minute.
Achraf Hakimi was the man that put PSG in front, tucking home from inside the box after Bradley Barcola's cross was parried out by Emiliano Martinez.
That looked to have quietened a raucous atmosphere in the West Midlands and it felt like PSG took control from that point.
In fact, Enrique's men went 2-0 in front on the night and 5-1 ahead on aggregate in the 27th minute, as Nuno Mendes fired the ball into the back of the net from 12 yards out.
Tie over? It seemed to be the case, but Villa had other ideas. Unai Emery's side gave themselves a lifeline before half-time as Youri Tielemans reduced the deficit with a deflected effort.
PSG still looked comfortable, keeping the ball well and creating chances, but Villa pushed and pushed in the second half. Emery's side ended up pulling another goal back to make it 2-2 on the night and 5-3 on aggregate, as John McGinn's long-range effort flew beyond Gianluigi Donnarumma and into the corner.
Villa didn't stop there and their rampage continued, as they scored another to make it 3-2 and go within ONE behind on aggregate.
A sublime piece of play from Marcus Rashford, who skipped past two players, saw the forward cut the ball back to Ezri Konsa to fire home from inside the area.
The last 30 minutes proved to be edgy from a PSG equation, but they managed to hold on, despite late Villa pressure, to book their place in the semi-final against either Arsenal or Real Madrid.
