Chris McCausland left It Takes Two host Janette Manrara stunned with his comment about Toyah Willcox's 'dig'.
Toyah was interviewed by Fleur East after her exit on Sunday night. When asked what tips she had for other celebrities, she laughed as she said: "If you don’t want to do a dance-off, get rid of Chris!"
Neil and Fleur looked awkwardly at one another before Toyah laughed and added: "You’re all going to have to face a dance off." Explaining her joke, Neil then chimed in to say: "I think she has chosen her winner already."
Chris and Dianne joined Janette in the It Takes Two studio on Thursday where she was quick to quiz him about what Toyah said.
"I wanted to clear up some confusion because on Monday, Toyah said you were the one to beat but some people misunderstood what she said. I just want to check you and Toyah are all good right?" she said.
Chris' response left Janette stunned - but only because he said he didn't tune in to It Takes Two. He told her: "We're all good! I had to be told about it because I didn't watch. I think the last thing I need is more Strictly stuff.
"She's been nothing but lovely. She genuinely said to me when she went out and we all cuddled on the dancefloor. She's lovely. Her intention is gorgeous. She's insane for thinking that, let's not let her off with that. It's madness."
Earlier in the week, Chris took to social media to defend Toyah against her comment.
"All I can say is that @toyahofficial has been nothing but beautiful and supportive and what she said on Takes Two was funny and an incredible bloody compliment. It’s been such a joy and a privilege Toya. Lots of love, enjoy the surfing! X" he wrote on .
Toyah added in her own message on social media: "Just to clarify and to clear up any confusion that’s flying around, My good friend @chrismccausland, is my favourite to win this year.
"I think he is inspiring and brilliant, he has worked so hard and I wish him nothing but love! Toyah x."
