BBC Countryfile viewers expressed their disappointment with the latest episode of the rural affairs programme.
The episode featured Matt Baker and Charlotte Smith visiting a farm in Cambridgeshire, where innovative farmer David Mwanaka is cultivating 485 acres of crops from his native Zimbabwe, including white maize.
Additionally, they visited a community farm growing unusual crops such as oca and quinoa while Adam Henson helped with a tea harvest in Cornwall.
However, shortly after the programme began, viewers took to social media to share their thoughts, with some expressing discontent. A number of viewers found the episode's content underwhelming, describing it as "boring."
One viewer tweeted: " Boring #countryfile today," reports .
Another critic commented: "This first story is really terribly done - nothing but a never-ending pointless interview- no one does anything except drive to nowhere, apparently."
Criticising the maize segment, a third viewer said: "Just what you want at a crucial time for the harvest .... Matt Baker, in a flat cap, asking inane questions #countryfile."
"I'm shocked by what I'm watching on @BBCCountryfile tonight maize and specialty Cornish-grown tea-our farmers must be spitting feathers," another viewer complained.
One person appealed to the show's producers: "I'd have preferred a more general Harvest edition, like sort of news about many more farms and crops, #CountryFile."
While some viewers were less than impressed, one fan was absolutely thrilled, tweeting: "@BBCCountryfile Teabot in Cornwall. Fantastic, love it. I definitely want to buy some and drink some good real tea. Does that estate do tea tastings?" Matt Baker even took a moment during the show to give a shout-out to the Countryfile calendar.
He remarked, "I think we are fast realising that the key to a farming enterprise like this, especially where family is concerned, is one thing."
Charlotte, eager for more information, urged him on with a "Go on," prompting Matt to tease, "Yes, and there is one thing missing from around here."
With a chuckle, Matt queried, "Do you know where I am going with this?"
As Charlotte caught on, Matt couldn't hide his delight, exclaiming, "Look at this. This is what they need; it's the Countryfile calendar."
Countryfile is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
