A YouTuber, who has visited every country globally, has ranked his favourite countries in Asia, with the Philippines taking the top spot due to its stunning beaches and welcoming locals.

Drew Binsky, a popular travel vlogger, expressed his love for the Philippines in a recent YouTube video, saying: "I've spent the last 12 years visiting every single country in the world.

"Asia is my favourite continent, the place I've called home for eight years and it's where I'm travelling right now. I spent two years of my life travelling in the Philippines. It's a land of over 7,500 islands and people are so friendly.

"The food is one of the most underrated in the world. And honestly, if you want the best beaches, look no further than the Philippines.

"My favourite places are Siquijor, Bohol, Palawan, Siargao and Romblon. I hope you can make it to the Philippines."

Drew's affection for the Philippines may be influenced by his personal connection to the country, as his wife, Deanna Sallao, is Filipino, and they got married there last year, reports the Express.

In contrast, Brunei and Bahrain ranked at the bottom of his list. The intrepid traveller Drew talked down Brunei, saying: "It was cool the second time around but it still wasn't that awesome. It's just boring. There are strict curfews there and laws, you just get this feeling that everyone is watching over your shoulder."

He described feeling underwhelmed by its attractions, except for the unique stilt homes.

Reflecting on Bahrain, Drew remarked: "The coolest thing about Bahrain is the F1 race which I haven't been to. Other than that I just find it to be not exciting. It's a dry country."

Although illegal above ground, he confessed to indulging in the underground party scene: "Underground you can go partying and drink which is what I did when I was there. I didn't connect with the culture that much.

"I'd much rather go to more exciting cities, I'd rather go to Dubai, even Jeddah was more exciting for me."

Drew's blunt video drew criticism, particularly from viewers familiar with Bahrain, challenging his impressions: "The things you told about Bahrain are straight up wrong."

They defended the nation, pointing out that Bahrain is comparatively liberal with a rich history, highlighting its many castles, historical Tree of Life, and welcoming mosques.

Addressing the back-and-forth in his comment section, Drew responded to allegations of bias towards his top pick, the Philippines, due to personal ties. Contesting such claims, he clarified: "It was number one years before I met Deanna. The Philippines is simply the best!"
