's sparked death fears on Wednesday night after a frightening
's character was rushed to hospital and close to death after a suspected heart attack, before a real diagnosis was confirmed by a doctor. After a row between and Sarah Platt and , Gail was left breathless and in pain.
Jesse called for an ambulance and . As she was taken in she was unconscious, with panicked doctors declaring she needed urgent medical attention.
One staff member was heard shouting: "We've lost vitals, she's gone into arrest." Soon they began CPR and used a defibrillator to try and get her heart beating normally again.
Jesse was tearful as the team battled to save Gail. Later in the episode as her worried family gathered at the hospital, a doctor confirmed what was wrong with Gail and whether she would be okay.
The doctor said Gail was suffering from a blockage in her left main coronary artery. The blockage caused the issues with her heart leaving her fighting for her life.

She revealed Gail would need to have an operation but she was currently stable. A stent would need to be fitted, with Gail's family told this would likely go okay - but they did warn their could be complications from the blockage.
They will need to asses if there is any long-term damage done to her body or her heart after her health scare. Her family were not able to see her, while they will be by her beside in the next episode.
But is Gail going to be alright? Nick Tilsley told his son Sam that his grandmother "was in good hands" and had "a lot to live for". Viewers were worried for Gail ahead of her , fearing she was about to be killed off.
They begged the soap to let Gail live, and let her have a happy exit. One viewer posted: "Omg l hope Gail is going to be OK in Corrie." Another added: "I hope they don’t kill her off. Just let her move away with Jessie but only if he’s genuine."
Helen said of her exit: "This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the . I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding.
“I have been truly blessed to have been given the most incredible scripts week in week out, and to have worked with fantastic actors, directors and a brilliant crew. The past 50 years have flown by and I don't think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet.”
