Dick and Angel Strawbridge 'refuse to compromise' in marriage and 'argue every day'

Dick Strawbridge has got candid about his marriage and business life with Angel Strawbridge. The 65-year-old insisted that with the pair living together, co-parenting, and running their ventures side by side, it inevitably causes them to clash on a daily basis.

However, while the rows are a daily occurrence, he stresses that love and affection always prevails. Speaking on the How To Be 60 podcast, He shared: "We argue every day, this is the thing, we're passionate, we don't believe in compromise.

"We argue every day and we love every day, that's not the issue."

When asked about taking breaks from each other, Dick added: "No, we don't need breaks, we haven't had our honeymoon yet, we're 10 years in and we haven't had a honeymoon," reports the Express.

"We're waiting for that, but we go away and we get the odd day together and we have power dating, where we will go for a night away, have a lovely meal and go and visit somewhere and then we will come back.

"Or, if we're going to work in the UK, we turn it into a holiday or turn it into a date."

While disagreements might be a part of their daily life, Dick affirmed that unity reigns when it comes to family time.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2015, share two young children Arthur, 11, and Dorothy, 10. Dick is also father to two grown-up children, Charlotte and James, from his previous marriage.

On family importance and time together, Dick stated: "For us nice and simply, family are more important, we address it as much as possible.

"We have holidays with the children, we do lots of things together and we try and make sure that we make down time.

"And the fact that with Arthur and Dorothy, we always take them to school, we always collect them.

"They've been the rationale with us trying to ground ourselves in our life."

Dick and Angel's love story could be straight out of a fairy tale, having met at a party in 2010 and instantly falling for each other. Despite their undeniable connection, he initially had reservations about their 20-year age difference, even suggesting Angel should find someone younger.

But once he realised Angel's heart was set on him, the former Army Colonel acknowledged that committing to her was "one of the biggest decisions" of his life.

He worried about the fairness to Angela and any children they might have, confessing: "At this stage I was sort of 53, and I'm sort of thinking is it fair [on Angela]? We fit, we work together, we're complete opposites, it's a logical that we're together, but it does work."

He went on to say that despite his initial worries, the age gap had not been a problem so far.
