EastEnders' Dean Gaffney 'looking for love on dating app but has one strict rule'

EastEnders star Dean Gaffney is on the lookout for love as he reportedly signed up to a dating app.

The actor has turned to online dating as he searches for love following his split from Sarah Burge in 2015. Dean and Sarah welcomed twin daughters Charlotte and Chloe, 27, together following their 22-year romance. He has now turned to Hinge to help find a girlfriend and has one very strict rule.

The 46-year-old boldly declared that dating him is "like winning the Lottery every day". His profile reportedly details that the way to his heart is being humble as it states: "Be a nice humble person, it's nice to be nice... you'll get the same from me." Dean is said to have included a series of photos of himself looking suited and booted.

However, he has ruled out being with anyone who smokes. According to The Sun, Dean called a smoker his "most irrational fear". The Robbie Jackson star went on to date model Rebekah Rose-Ward for three years following his split from Sarah. He has also tried other dating apps in the past as he was spotted on Bumble following his split from Rebekah in 2019.

A year later, the actor signed up to E4 show Celebs Go Dating on the hunt for love. During his time on the show, he admitted: “I want that butterfly feeling, I want to be in love.” While attending London’s TRIC Awards, the dad-of-two opened up about why he chose to give Celebs Go Dating a go - saying it was to pick up a hefty pay cheque.

He made a series of awkward remarks about appearing on reality dating TV shows. Speaking of his daughters, he said: “They wouldn't go on a reality show to find love. It would never happen. They have been offered Love Island but they are private, which is nice." Dean added: “I think people who do go on a reality show to find love... . is it genuine? Are they really going to find love or are they going for Instagram followers?"

When reminded of the fact he took part in a similar show to the ones he slammed, Dean said: “I went on Celebs Go Dating to have a good time. At the end of the day it’s a job and a job pays money.” His time on the dating show didn't go too well as he was humiliatingly pied off during the first episode.

Dean was mocked for his age as spoke about having his 18th birthday at a Romford club called the Hippodrome. His date asked: "How long ago was that?" Things then got much worse for 'The Wolf of Walford' when he asked a woman out on a date - and was awkwardly rejected. "I think on this occasion I'll probably say 'no'," explained Martine, before Dean was mocked further by the EastEnders 'doof doof' music. He then claimed Martine "must be a Corrie fan".

The Mirror has contacted Dean's representatives for comment.
