Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly has received many messages of support from her fans after she shared her decision to quit social media.

The actress is much-loved on Instagram where she shares regular updates from her train journeys as well as snippets from work and her personal life. But Beth, who plays Ruby Fox-Milligan in the ITV soap, has now admitted that she will be leaving the online world for a bit.

She was seen cuddled up to her pet cat for her latest video in which she spoke about her decision. While she didn't share why she had made the decision, Beth did tell her fans and followers that she would only be gone from Instagram for a "little while". Speaking directly to her fans, Beth said: "Hi guys, we [Beth and her cat] are having a few weeks away from social media, aren't we?" She then blew her fans a kiss as she added: "Sending you all love - I'll see you on the other side."

Her adorable black and white cat then meowed as Beth tried to get him to "say something" as she closed up the video clip. And it didn't take Beth's followers long to show their love and support, the Manchester Evening News reported.

A fan said: "Oh no hope you are OK? Always be you. Don't let anyone suppress that. Your happiness is so important, don't let others p*ss on it. Take care lovely." Another commented: "Aww I will miss your posts. You are such a lovely lady. We appreciate you! I look forward to your return. Much love."

One more person wrote: "Hope you're ok, I will miss you, you always make me laugh. Look forward to seeing you again." Someone else replied: "Look forward to seeing your posts again when you're back." @tommartin345 posted: "Sending you lots of love and hugs." And one more added: "I hope you are okay @beth_cordingly. Enjoy your time away!"

It comes after Beth recently emotionally declared her love for her real-life partner who also once appeared in the Dales. The actress is very much loved-up with fellow actor Ian Kelsey. She shared a FaceTime snap of the couple. It showed Ian smiling into the camera at the forefront of the post while Beth could be seen beaming in the corner as they made sure to catch up with one another while apart.

Beth, 47, gushed alongside the post: "I love you on tour. I love you at home. I love you away. I love you here. You are the stuff dreams are made of. Thank god I found you. #stillcantbelieveyourereal..." She continued: "(I know this is [sick face emoji] . Soz, dudes. I shout this s**t from the rooftops nowadays and if it backfires on me SO BE IT, I won't be ashamed. I had a good time on the way. I'm done with being quiet and careful. I don't care. #lifeistooshort)."

"It's taken me 47 years to get here. And some amazing people in my life with everyday a school day. Stay open. Own your mistakes. WE ALL MAKE THEM. I MAKE HUNDREDS EVERY DAY. Proper CRINGE ONES. So. LEARN. Life IS a marathon not a sprint. Seatbelt on. There will be time."

Beth then concluded her emotional post: "Thought for the day: The good ones do exist. Keep your eyes open. And when you find them it's terrifying, I KNOW. But be brave and reach out your hand and don't let go. #trustyouareenough#youareworthy#loveyourself please. @iankelseyofficial I love you. Thank you for being amazing."
