Harry Potter fans still cast doubts over new TV show remake

Send Push

Harry Potter fans have revealed their true feelings over HBO's new and upcoming TV series remake.

Last year, it was confirmed that there would be a new Harry Potter series and since then the wizarding world has been eagerly awaiting for more info.

Similar to the eight movies, the new show will explore each Harry Potter book in depth over a planned 10-year run.

Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content, assured fans of a "faithful adaptation."

But some fans have hinted at their hesitation towards the show, with some suggesting that it should not happen.

Others have said that if there is going to be a new Harry Potter series, then it should focus on a completely different story.

One commented: "Still not happy that they are doing it. I'd much rather they make original stories set in the same world as the movies.

"There is so much potential for new story. It's lazy to just do the same thing we already have in two other forms." While another said: "As long as they include as much as they can, and keep it as accurate as they can, I’m good.

"I’m not gonna hold my breath, though. Seems like good adaptations of anything anymore are few and far between."

Another, more sceptical fan wrote: "I really don’t want to watch another beloved franchise get butchered for a cash grab. Please don’t let this end up like Rings of Power Season 1."

While another simply said: "I just hope we get a proper badass Ginny Weasley."
