Helen Flanagan has revealed her new boyfriend Robbie Talbot has been introduced to her three children.
The former Coronation Street star, who shares her kids with ex Scott Sinclair, left fans gobsmacked last week when she disclosed that she's been secretly dating despite her stint on E4's Celebs Go Dating. Helen joined the E4 series after her relationship with footballer Scott ended in 2022 after ten years together.
Following their split, Helen had a brief fling with boxer David Haye before finding love with Robbie. Last week's episode saw Helen shock the show's experts by revealing she has a 'secret boyfriend'. The revelation left the love gurus gobsmacked as Helen confessed her feelings for ex-sportsman Robbie, despite participating in the dating series.
Helen and Robbie's relationship appears to be going from strength to strength, with the happy couple recently celebrating a major milestone. Speaking with her friend Ashley James, 37, on a recent episode of Celebs Go Dating, Helen gushed: "He's just amazing, he treats me so well, he's so kind, really sweet, he's the loveliest man. He helps me with my kids, he'll take Charlie to nursery. He helped me the other day with the kids. He can't do enough for me."
The I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star revealed her new romance last week during a speed-dating segment on the show, where she seemed disinterested in the potential matches. It was when she disclosed her feelings for Robbie that the bombshell hit. She explained: "Unfortunately I am comparing everyone to him [Robbie]. And it's making it very difficult now when I'm dating."
Expert Anna Williamson was visibly taken aback and remarked to the camera: "Pardon, you've got a boyfriend? Why on Earth did she not tell us about this?" When probed by Dr Tara about her secrecy, Helen elaborated: "My feelings have just got stronger and things have just got more intense. I actually could see something with this guy at home being something really quite lovely. I think I am in love with him."
Rumours suggest that the show's producers were eager to retain the former soap star to appear on the show. According to a source who spoke to the Sun, Helen Flanagan attempted to keep her relationship private due to her involvement in Celebs Go Dating. However, as their feelings for each other intensified, it became increasingly difficult to maintain secrecy.
The situation reached a boiling point when Helen was questioned by the show's dating agents about her lack of interest in pursuing connections with other contestants. The primary rule of Celebs Go Dating is that participants must be single. Despite this, E4 producers were keen to keep Helen on the show and devised a way to incorporate Robbie into the narrative.
A spokesperson for Celebs Go Dating stated: "During the filming of Celebs Go Dating, the executive producers discovered that Helen Flanagan was in a relationship outside of the CGD process. Once this came to light, Helen was asked to be transparent with the agents and her fellow celebrities during her next filming day. As per the show's guidelines, all participating celebrities must be single."
"After discussing the situation, it was decided that Helen and her partner, Robbie, would meet with the agents to assess their compatibility, and Helen would no longer date members of the public. These developments will be featured on the show starting from episode 10."
