Hollyoaks favourite confirms emotional exit after nine years - and he's not leaving alone

Another Hollyoaks villager is planning on leaving Chester.

In emotional scenes from Wednesday's (July 3) episode, which are available to stream on Channel 4, Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) shared his plans to move to Spain.

Actor Ross has played Scott for nine years and has documented his exit from the soap on his social media over the past few months and recently told fans that he'd filmed his final scenes.

Fans have been left wondering how Scott makes his dramatic departure and it has been confirmed that he's going to start a new life abroad with Sinead O'Connor (Stephanie Davis) and make his drag act Anita tinkle his full-time job.

Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) encouraged Scott to go for his dream and after some deliberation, he decided that he's going to leave Hollyoaks after almost a decade.

However, in a shock twist, Freya Calder (Ellie Henry) asked to Scott if she could move away with him following her mum's death and her dad being sent to prison.

Freya has suffered a lot of heartbreak since arriving in the villag from being injured in a bus crash to losing her mum Lexi (Natalie Anderson) at the hands of serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle).

She also discovered that her homophobic dad Carter Shepherd (David Ames) was practising conversion therapy on Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis), who he attempted to kidnap.

Freya and Scott's exit comes after Zain Rizwaan (Jonas Khan) departed the village and Hollyoaks viewers will bid farewell to numerous more faces in coming weeks.

Stephanie Waring, who has played Cindy Cunningham on and off for 28 years, confirmed on social media that her iconic character was one of those axed amid the casting cuts.

Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) will also be written out in the near future and Beau Ramsey (Jon-Paul Bell) is also reportedly set to leave.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights on E4 at 7pm and first look episodes can be streamed Channel 4 at 7.30pm
