Hollyoaks star quits village after confirming 'marriage is over' in heartbreaking twist

Send Push

Hollyoaks have aired another emotional exit as another villager moved away from Chester.

Zain Rizwaan (Jonas Khan) recently landed a job in Scotland and asked wife Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) to join him. but she wasn't fussed on the idea on leaving the village.

In emotional scenes, which are available to stream on Channel 4, Misbah went to visit her husband to tell him that she doesn't want to move to Edinburgh with him and shared her plans to stay in the village with nephew Dillon Ray (Nathanial Dass) instead.

Misbah told Zain that she was no longer in love with him and the pair jointly came to the conclusion that their marriage was over. Zain told Misbah he "needed to go" and left the village in the back of a taxi.

She was left in tears as she bid farewell to her husband but Dillon was happier than ever that he was now able to stay in the village with his boyfriend Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis).

Zain isn't the only villager to make the decision to leave Chester this week. During Monday's (July 1) episode, Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) decided to move away after he was nearly killed by a masked gunman.

Norma Crow (Glynis Barber) tried to get his son Warren to go to a safe house and take the mother of his unborn child Mercedes. She warned Mercedes she has no choice but to go.

Warren and Mercedes later headed off to the Lake District to escape the threat on his life and seemed like they are edging close to a reunion and future together.

Warren has recently been targeted after supplying a batch of dodgy pills that resulted in the tragic deaths of Lizzie Chen-Williams and Hunter McQueen.

His troubles came to a head last week with the bad boy being shot by an unidentifiable assailant — though he escaped unharmed after wearing a bulletproof vest.

As Warren tried to gather information on his attacker, it was later revealed that his enemy Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham) had been hiding a gun in his bag. Will Norma be able to uncover Warren's assailant while he's away?

Hollyoaks airs weeknights on E4 at 7pm and first look episodes can be streamed Channel 4 at 7.30pm
