How much was Liam Gallagher paid for Anthony Joshua fight ahead of Oasis reunion tour?

Liam Gallagher will be performing during the Anthony Joshua fight – but how much will he be paid?

Ahead of the Oasis reunion tour, it has been reported that both Liam and Noel Gallagher could walk away with £50 million in their back pocket. So it perhaps stands to reason that Liam, 52, has also added a substantial amount to his already heavy coffers, after securing a solo gig ahead of the hugely hyped fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois. The Oasis front man will perform in front of 96,000 fans at Wembley stadium before the British heavy weight boxers go head to head to win the title fight.

Liam recently confirmed the set list will contain some of the band's classic anthems which include Rock n' Roll Star, Supersonic, and Cigarettes and Alcohol. But as yet, it has not been revealed the exact amount Liam will walk away with. However, adding hype to his performance later today [September 21], one fan asked on X: "96k people, you excited?" In response, Liam quipped: "Yeah it’s a little on the small side but I’ll manage."

Liam is certainly no stranger to performing to large crowds having previously performing to 500,000 across two shows at Knebworth in 1994. But it seems there was talk of the event organiser Turki Alalshikh trying to get Noel to perform alongside his brother - which could have kick started the reunion set. Speaking about trying to get Noel on board, Turki said: "It will be something amazing if we get them together." He added: "We will try. Why not?"

Earlier this month, Oasis made a shocking announcement about their future. The rock band who recently announced they had reunited to embark on a 17-date UK and Ireland tour, had performed at Knebworth in 1996 and the show was hailed as one of their best and biggest gigs. Their performance made up their live album from their shows and the Oasis Knebworth documentary, in 2021. It had been claimed that Liam and Noel Gallagher were considering adding dates to their tour next year.

But now, Oasis released a statement on social media, saying: "Contrary to reports in some UK tabloid media today, Oasis will not be playing Knebworth Park in the future. There are no plans for any further UK dates beyond the currently announced UK stadium tour." The group has already finalised dates for the Live 25 tour to include two more London shows at Wembley Stadium on September 27 and 28 following the furore over fans unable to get tickets due to technical issues.

Those who are successful in the private invite-only ballot are set to be told by this Friday [September 13] at 9pm, it has been reported. The original release of tickets has led to an investigation by the UK’s competition watchdog after surging demand led to the price of standard tickets for the reunion tour, doubling from a staggering £148 to £355 on Ticketmaster.
