ITV The Chase interrupted as CBBC legends Dick and Dom share tense exchange

Dominic Wood had a score to settle with his former CBBC co-star Richard McCourt.

The duo, who gained recognition as Dick and Dom, appeared in ITV's celebrity edition of The Chase this Sunday, July 7, 2024, fronted by Bradley Walsh.

But before Dominic, 47, could face chaser Anne Hegerty, he admitted to the presenter that his long-time pal had betrayed him during one of their most recent TV gigs, which led to the pair trying to light-heartedly settle the discord once and for all.

"When did you first meet Richard?", Bradley first asked, to which Dominic quipped: "Prison!" Before revealing the pair had met at the BBC. "He had been doing children's BBC for about, what? Three months?", he added in the episode originally aired back in January, 2024.

"And then I got a job and I recognised him straight away. He knew I was the new boy on the scene and we were only 18. We just got chatting and got on really, really well. And that was it, 26 years later, we're still together."

However, tension emerged when Richard said: "we've been on a few game shows." And Dominic jumped at the occasion to call him out: "Well, the last time we were on a game show, get this, he voted me off! It's absolutely true! And I said to him, I whispered: 'what the hell are you doing?' He went: 'don't worry mate, it'll make great telly.' That was it. Off."

Richard was unapologetic as he exclaimed: "You should have gone off, you couldn't answer any of the questions", which prompted his pal to end the exchange with a blunt: "shut up!"

Later on in the game show, Dominic Wood called out another one of his past pals as he revealed he went to school with Coldplay's Chris Martin. But despite trying to keep in touch, his attempts at forming a friendship had been ignored. "I message him all the time but he never messages back", he lamented.

Earlier this year, the radio hosts ignited many reactions on social media when they appeared to tease that the set of their former programme, Dick & Dom in da Bungalow, could be made into an attraction.

The duo fronted the BAFTA-winning show from its launch in 2002 on CBBC, before it was moved over to BBC One, to its last instalment in 2006, after five series.

Dick and Dom embarked on a 20th anniversary tour last year, which saw them visit various venues, and it is understood to have included a reduced version of the bungalow set that featured on the original TV show.

Alongside a photo of what appeared to be the set from the original show, the pair wrote in the May, 2024, post : "We've had the BUNGALOW tour set in storage but sadly about to get it scrapped. Who thinks we shouldn't and get it turned into a Willy Wonka style theme park instead?! A pub?!" Fans had their own suggestions.
