Let's be honest, we all adore a scrumptious dish and your favourite meal is always more satisfying when it's whipped up at home.

But, naturally, the hassle of complex recipes with endless steps and shopping for myriad ingredients - most destined for the bin after using them once - can curb your culinary enthusiasm. However, there's good news for fans of a crispy chicken fix: celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has dished out his straightforward recipe for barbecue chicken thighs that promise to be ready in a jiffy using an air fryer.

Your only three ingredients and some hands-on action away from a tantalisingly crispy delight. Jamie lit up TikTok with his "most delicious air fryer chicken" revelation, posting under his handle @jamieoliver. The full details of this succulent creation are on his website too tagged "super easy", promising a mere 40-minute cook time, catering to two peckish people, and clocking in at just 364 calories per serving.

So what goes into assembling this fuss-free feast? Fetch four medium-sized, boneless, skinless chicken thighs to start. Then sprinkle in three elementary components: a dash of olive oil, barbecue seasoning, and breadcrumbs. Jamie plates his chicken alongside corn on the cob, but feel free to pair it with veggies of your choosing or indulge with a side of chips if you fancy a cheeky twist.

To whip up this lip-smacking recipe, start by spreading out the chicken thighs on a board or tray in one layer and give them a generous "dusting all over" with your favourite barbecue seasoning. Then grab some breadcrumbs and "sprinkle over the breadcrumbs", as Jamie advises: "Push the crumbs onto the chicken thighs so they stick."

Once you've got your chicken nicely coated, it's ready for the air fryer. Line them up neatly in a single layer and douse lightly with some olive oil, or if you're opting for convenience, a quick spritz of an oil spray will do the trick. Now, the cooking action begins. Jamie instructs to sizzle those thighs for 20 minutes at a toasty 180 degrees Celsius, flipping them at the halfway mark for an even cook.

After the initial 20-minute timer sounds, toss in a few ears of corn into the fryer and let them roast for another 10 minutes. Jamie suggests: "Once the time's up on the chicken, place the corn on top and cook at 180C for 10 minutes, or until beautifully golden and cooked through, bringing the chicken to the top halfway through."

Notably, the instructions on Jamie's website highlight that these mouth watering results were achieved using a 4.2-litre air fryer. However, as each fryer is unique, expect some variations in outcome based on the dimensions and model of your own gadget.
