Jose Mourinho reaction to Andre Onana says it all about Man Utd keeper

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana stunned Jose Mourinho by making two saves in quick succession to deny Fenerbahce an equaliser.

United took the lead in the Europa League tie with their first shot on target when Christian Eriksen provided a thumping finish to a fluent attacking move. But they had their goalkeeper to thank for ensuring the score remained 1-0 at half-time.

Onana got down low to his right-hand side to push away a header from Youssef En-Nesyri before clambering back to his feet. En-Nesyri was picked out again by Dusan Tadic but saw his second header in a few seconds palmed over the bar by the United goalkeeper.

The Cameroon international was quickly surrounded by his team-mates, who congratulated him on a wonderful double save, before the camera cut to Mourinho. The former United boss looked aghast on the touchline, throwing his hands to his head in shock before laughing at the misfortune his side had just suffered.

United came into their match in Istanbul on the back of two straight draws in the this season and desperately need a win over Fenerbahce. Onana's invention reminded former United midfielder Robbie Savage of another impressive double save from Arsenal's David Raya earlier in the season.

“We saw a double save in the by , but Onana here, I think that's better," Savage said on commentary for TNT Sports. "The first one is brilliant, but to get up and at short notice…that’s a brilliant save. Jose can’t believe it!”

Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson compared Onana to Three Lions legend Gordon Banks. "That is incredible from Andre Onana. Low down to his right-hand-side, Gordon Banks like. He gets up off the floor and tips it over the bar," he said on Radio 5 Live. " cannot believe it!"

"Two exceptional saves from Onana," former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves said on TNT Sports. "Look at Jose there! He can't believe it. You're not really going to save both of them?!"
