Kelly Brook admits she knows why 'Strictly Come Dancing curse' happens

Kelly Brook has shared her opinion about the infamous Strictly Curse - and reveals exactly why some people fall for each other on the show.

The 44-year-old model was a contestant on the long-running BBC show back in 2007 where she was paired with Brendan Cole. In the 20 years that Striclty has been on the air, relationships have been destroyed after celebrity contestants fell for their dance partners.

But Kelly previously revealed she understood how the intensity of training can create the illusion of feelings. She said on Heart FM in the past: "I mean when you sign on [bosses] are like, 'Oh you just need to do a few hours a week' and then when you start, it actually does take over your life and you realise that you have it put in like eight hours a day. Because everyone else is, if you don't you just look really bad on the Saturday night."

She added: "You want to give it your all and you just end up living with this person pretty much, all the time. So I can see how relationships develop. But it's like hooking up with actors on a movie set. It's like a locationship - it only happens during that period."

Reflecting on her own time dancing with Brendan - who was a professional on the show from 2004 until 2018 - Kelly recalled: "The lothario. Well actually we met his wife during my series so I met Zoe and - he was fine. Once he met her he calmed down. He was quite energised in the beginning."

Picking out one example from the 2018 season - when Katya Jones and Seann Walsh snogged despite both being in other relationships - Kel said: "Someone was really hurt during that whole [time] - well two people were really hurt by it - their partners... So I don't know, I found it really awkward watching them."

Kelly pulled out of the show in week nine following the devastating death of her dad, Kenneth Parsons.
