Meghan Markle's UK return date 'revealed' amid Prince Harry Christmas royal reunion rumours

Rumours are swirling that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could be celebrating Christmas in the UK with their little ones this year. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly snagged an invite to spend the festive period at Althorp House, courtesy of Harry's uncle, Charles, Earl Spencer, sources have claimed.

Should they say yes, it would be Meghan's first major return to the UK since she paid her respects at the late Queen's funeral in 2022. But sources whisper that an invite to join the Royal Family's traditional Sandringham Christmas hasn't landed in their mailbox, and chances are slim they'd RSVP 'yes' even if it did.

A source spilled to the Express: "Charles [Spencer] has invited Harry, Meghan and the children to Althorp this Christmas," but cautioned, "It's far too early to say whether they will take him up on it, but the offer is there if they want it." The insider added: "There hasn't been an invitation extended to Sandringham just yet, but that doesn't mean there won't be one forthcoming."

They went on to speculate, "It would be highly unlikely if there was an invitation extended [to Sandringham] and I don't think they [the Sussexes) would take them up on it anyway."

Notably, Harry and Meghan have not been seen at the Royal Family's Yuletide celebrations at Sandringham since 2018 and were notably missing from the Firm's "summer summit" at Balmoral too.

Prince Harry reportedly paid a visit to Althorp House, the ancestral home of the Spencer family and his late mother's final resting place, during his recent UK trip. The Duke, who is preparing for his 40th birthday celebrations next week, attended Lord Robert Fellowes' memorial service in Norfolk on August 28.

In an unexpected turn of events, Prince Harry showed up at the service in Snettisham, Norfolk, and is thought to have lodged at the Althorp estate in Northamptonshire. His brother, Prince William, was also present at the funeral, but eyewitnesses claim the two brothers kept their distance, sitting separately at the back of St Mary's Church.

The service took place just two days before the 27th anniversary of Diana's death. Diana's final resting place is on an island in the Oval Lake at Althorp.
