Adele Roberts has opened up about the reason why she and her long-term girlfriend Kate Holderness haven’t yet married after the radio presenter was diagnosed with cancer in 2021.

The BBC Radio 1 presenter said there’s a reason why she’s been putting off marrying her partner of 20 years. Adele admitted that she feels "overwhelmed" when it comes to clothes and is struggling to decide on a wedding outfit.

Speaking on the StyleDNA podcast, the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star admitted that her worries come from a "serious" place. "This is the reason I’ve not got married, because I don’t know what to wear… Clothes really overwhelm me."

She continued: "Kate has to pick her moments when she takes me shopping because I just get really overwhelmed with choice." Her partner Kate has a "beautiful" wardrobe, with pieces in "all the colours of the rainbow - and mine is just black, black, black, black, black - and maybe one white top", Adele said.

The media personality continued: "I don't know whether I'd wear a dress or maybe wear a jumpsuit because I feel like jumpsuits are starting to be my thing now." The star added that her stoma bag, which she affectionately calls Audrey, may not be a part of her outfit, "because eventually Audrey will get reversed".

The star previously revealed that she first experienced the symptoms of bowel cancer on the reality series in 2019, but was not diagnosed until 2021. She has since been declared as being cancer-free after undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Last year, Adele went down in history as the fastest woman to run in the London Marathon with a stoma bag. She said that she first considered her body to be "beautiful" after she saw herself with the colostomy bag for the first time.

She said: "I remember seeing myself in the mirror and for the first time feeling connected to my body and appreciating it and seeing it as beautiful." Adele continued: "And I know that sounds like really strange to maybe some people, but I was just like for the first time I loved myself."

She said the experience made her appreciate "what that body had been through to keep me alive, and I just felt so grateful". However, she said that her style may be different, had she not had the stoma bag. "I think I’m starting to find my style," Adele added. "But I think if Audrey wasn’t here I might just have slightly tighter clothes, maybe."
