Rodrygo signs, Viktor Gyokeres in, five exits - Arsenal best case transfer window scenario

Send Push

Despite a slow start to the summer transfer window, Arsenalhave been quick to strengthen their squad in July. They announced the £5million signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea right at the start of the month, before confirming Martin Zubimendi's arrival in a £51m deal from Real Sociedad.

Arsenal's third summer recruit soon followed, as Christian Norgaard made the £10m switch from Brentford. Now, Chelsea forward Noni Madueke appears to be the next man to come through the Emirates Stadium doors, after the Gunners agreed a £48m plus £4m add-ons deal on Friday.

While Mikel Arteta's side continue to look at bolstering their ranks, there is a focus on getting players out, too. Someone that could be sold to free up squad space and cash is Leandro Trossard.

According to BILD, Bayern Munich are interested in a move for the Belgian if they are unable to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool. Trossard changed his management at the start of July and is now advised by German agent Dirk Hebel, hinting that he might be open to quitting north London this summer.

Should Arsenal look to offload one attacker to manoeuvre room for Madueke, Gyokeres and another new face, Trossard would be the perfect player to sell. The ex-Brighton & Hove Albion man is set to turn 31 in December and is the club's second-oldest outfielder behind Norgaard.

As he is approaching the tail end of his career and has less than 12 months on his contract, this could be Arsenal's final chance to cash in on him. Plus, Trossard didn't set the world alight last season, scoring 10 times and adding 10 assists in 56 matches, and wouldn't be near their first-choice starting XI.

Trossard's exit could then pave the way for Rodrygo to arrive from Real Madrid. Xabi Alonso's men are considering the Brazilian's future and Arsenal remain interested in the two-time Champions League winner. The 24-year-old would add pace and an extra threat from the wide position next season.

Selling Trossard, meanwhile, would open up space and money to sign Rodrygo and complete a dream forward line, should Viktor Gyokeres arrive in a blockbuster deal from Sporting CP. Gyokeres has emerged as Arsenal's main target for the No.9 position, after scoring 54 goals and providing 13 assists in 52 games.

Although there does appear to be gap in valuation between Arsenal and Sporting, confidence is growing that a deal for Gyokeres is going to get done. He could be the final piece of the jigsaw that the Gunners are looking for in attack, as they bid to get across the line and win the Premier League title.

Alongside Madueke, Gyokeres and Rodrygo, Arsenal could do with just one more addition. That is going to be at centre-back, with Cristhian Mosquera coming in from Valencia. While the Gunners are not desperate for a central defender, they could do with adding one more and Mosquera would be that man.

Elsewhere, more players are expected to leave Arsenal. Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has one year left on his contract, is one that should be sold, while Fabio Viera, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Reiss Nelson are the others that need to go. Even if sending the trio out on loan could be the easiest option, Arsenal should sell them.
