Strictly's Aljaz and Janette's 'miracle baby' is lookalike of her famous parents

Strictly Come Dancing stars Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara welcomed their "miracle baby" in the summer of 2023 - and the couple have spoken about how the girl's arrival has "completely changed" their lives.

Little Lyra, who turned one on July 28, is the spitting image of her pro-dancer dad, who will be taking to the Strictly dance floor tonight in its first live show alongside partner Love Island star Tasha Ghouri. Ahead of tonight's show, the 34-year-old dad shared some sweet snaps of him and his daughter.

In a video, Lyra can be seen cosying up to her dad as Aljaz gives her a kiss on the cheek. The professional dancer recently revealed Lyra is "a daddy's girl" and said she "goes crazy" when she sees him.

He told OK! Magazine that Lyra has "completely changed" his life and his wife's life, adding: "I absolutely love it! I went shopping the other day because I needed a new pair of trousers, and I thought to myself, 'This is probably the first time in a couple of months that I've actually gone to the shop for me,' because my whole world is about Lyra – it's not about me any more."

And he added: "Of course, she is a daddy's girl, but I would say that! If you ask Janette, she's going to say Lyra's a mummy's girl. I have a lot of childish energy, I don't think I'll ever grow up. So, at the moment, myself and Lyra are actually really compatible – she sees me and she goes crazy."

It comes as Janette revealed earlier this week that she won't be rooting for Aljaz during Strictly this year as her role as host on It Takes Two means "no favourites" are allowed. Gracing The One Show with her presence alongside Fleur East, the pair were quizzed by hosts Alex Scott and Roman Kemp about Aljaz's return.

Janette made an unexpected disclosure when asked by Roman: "Janette, I know someone you'll be cheering on. Aljaz, of course. Is it nice to see him back out there?" To which Janette responded: "It is incredible to see him back on the show, but I'll be honest, I am not allowed favourites as host of It Takes Two, so I'm going to be looking at him the same way as I look any other professional and celebrity on the show."

She added, delightedly mentioning the couple's daughter: "It is nice to have him on the telly." And in an emotional moment she shared: "I tell you it was really nice to watch him with Lyra. I had tears in my eyes because it was just so special to sit with our daughter, watching Daddy on the telly doing what he loves to do. It was amazing."
