It Takes Two host and former Strictly Come Dancing pro Janette Manrara has told how it was emotional seeing her husband Aljaž Škorjanec back on the show with . star Tasha topped the Movie Week leaderboard scoring 34 out of 40 with Aljaž.

And Janette, 40, who was on the shows for eight series, says it made her teary seeing Aljaž back having left the series in 2022. Janette said: "I’m so happy he's back, I think the whole country is. He’s back where he belongs. He shines on that dance floor. He loves to teach. It was amazing to watch him, and I was there at the live show. “After he finished his dance with Tasha, I got teary-eyed, I got emotional, it was just so beautiful to see him back doing what he loves.”

On Tasha she added: “The problem is, it's not Aljaž that's competing, it's Tasha. So, people need to fall in love with Tasha. We went for a really nice dinner, a double date with our daughter Lyra. Honestly, she's just the loveliest, most, kindest person. “She's going to do great with the dancing, because she's quite capable, but she has to learn how to let go. “She needs to really loosen herself up and let go. I think her journey is going to be letting go of perfection.

“That's what I mean, everybody on Strictly, whether you're the best dancer or the worst dancer, everybody goes through a journey. Everybody comes out the other side feeling like they've learned something new about themselves. So, it'd be really interesting to see how her and Aljaž get on with the series, and how far they do go, but we'll have to wait and find out.”

Janette was speaking on Monday Mile Podcast with Aimee Fuller and told of suffering with imposter syndrome during her first year on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013. She said: “It was hard, because obviously it was my first year ever on Strictly, and Aljaž’s first year on Strictly, he was dancing with Abby Clancy, and I was dancing with Julien MacDonald. Julien MacDonald and I were in the dance off every single week for four weeks until we got eliminated.

“And then Aljaž went on to win it with Abby and it was so hard for me emotionally, because I obviously wanted to do a good job and impress a new country, a new audience of people, new co-workers that I had never really worked with before. I just felt like I was a complete failure, like I didn't do a good job, I didn't belong there, I thought I don't deserve this job.

“Then at the same time, I was just so happy for Aljaž that I internalised all of it, which ended up making it worse. I didn't talk about how bad I was feeling, because I didn't want to put it on him, and I didn't want him to feel bad for me, because I wanted him to enjoy his glory and his moment. So it was a really, really tough time to feel like you weren't enough or you didn't do a good job, and then, at the same time, be happy and elated for your [future] husband.”
