The Voice judge Danny Jones was left in dismay after a contestant was snubbed by the judges. A hopeful musician from Liverpool aimed to wow the judging panel, which included Sir Tom Jones, LeAnn Rimes, Will.i.am, and McFly's Danny Jones with Tom Fletcher.

Paul Connor, 18, shared his passion for his hometown stating: "I love being from Liverpool. It's a boss city with boss people. It's boss.

"I am a massive Liverpool fan. People say football is just a game, it really isn't. It's beautiful. It proper speaks to me. My biggest supporters are my mum and dad."

He also mentioned how he plays music close to Anfield, stating "There's a pub beside Anfield I get to play Liverpool songs before a game. Football is my first love, music is why I'm here. I've never done anything to this extent. This is the biggest moment of my life. This could be the next big step for me."

Debbie, Paul's mother, said: "I literally haven't got words to say how proud I am of him. He's just absolutely flying at life at the moment. I'm in awe of him and how far he's come"

Taking to the stage with his guitar, Paul performed Sam Fender's 'Spit of You'. The judges were uncertain with McFly's members pondering deeply over their decision.

The crowd loved the young performer and cheered wildly as he finished. One viewer on social media shared: "He's got a good voice."

Despite his performance, Paul did not manage to make any of the judges turn their chairs. Danny showed clear distress as he placed his hand over his heart and admitted: "That hurts."

After the show, Paul shared his thoughts: "I'm gutted, don't get me wrong but what can you do? I gave it my best. On to the next thing."
