are reportedly advancing negotiations for Benjamin Sesko, despite presenting an offer for Viktor Gyokeres following a meeting in Lisbon last week.

Portuguese newspaper reported that a meeting took place between Gyokeres' agent Hasan Cetinkaya and Arsenal.

Officials from the north London club were in the Portuguese capital for the Women's Champions League final on Saturday at Sporting's Jose Alvalade Stadium, where the Gunners came away 1-0 winners against .

Club officials reportedly submitted an offer to Cetinkaya for .

The report adds that his agent is said to have an official proposal ready to present to Sporting on Arsenal’s behalf, with the offer reportedly valued at around €70million (£59m), plus a 'target-based fee.'

This additional payment would likely depend on Gyokeres’ and/or the team’s future performance."

However, this week, Arsenal's attention appears to have shifted to RB Leipzig striker Sesko. Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has now issued a new update on the 22-year-old.

Taking to X, he highlighted that Arsenal have started negotiations with Leipzig over Sesko as they aim to make progress on 'several fronts' to avoid disappointment if talks were to break down.

It is also reported that Sesko is yet to reach a personal agreement with the north Londoners while emphasising that Gyokeres has 'already' given his verbal agreement to join side.

Sesko could be the striker to finally solve Arsenal's goalscoring woes. Although the Gunners scored 69 goals in 38 Premier League games during the 2024/25 season, no individual player managed to reach double figures.

Arsenal, long-term admirers of Sesko, showed interest in signing the striker 12 months ago, but the transfer never materialised.

Now, one year later, hopes are high that he will be included in Arsenal’s 25-man squad for the 2025/26 season.

football.london understands that new sporting director is working on multiple deals - not just Sesko’s, with Martin Zubimendi also close to completing a move to north London.
