The Mumbai Cricket Association has inaugurated a stand at Wankhede Stadium named after the captain of the Indian ODI team, Rohit Sharma. On Saturday, former Indian coach Rahul Dravid, along with several players from the Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians, congratulated Rohit on this remarkable achievement. Recently, Rohit announced his retirement from Test cricket, prompting the MCA to honor him by naming a stand in his name. Dravid remarked that this stand serves as a tribute to Rohit Sharma's significant contributions to both Indian and Mumbai cricket.
In a video shared by Mumbai Indians, Rahul Dravid humorously noted, "Rohit, it seems you've hit so many sixes that they had to name a stand after you. But truly, congratulations! I know you enjoy playing here, and I’m sure you wanted to deliver some outstanding performances, which you have. I doubt you ever dreamed of having a stand named after you, but now it’s a reality, and I believe this is a fitting recognition of your contributions to Mumbai and Indian cricket."

Players like Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, and Yashasvi Jaiswal also extended their congratulations to Rohit Sharma for this honor. It’s worth noting that Rohit recently bid farewell to Test cricket, expressing that he never imagined such an event would occur. He stated, "What’s happening today was something I never thought of. You strive for many achievements, but this is particularly special because Wankhede Stadium holds many memories for me."
