CSIR UGC NET June 2025 Exam Date: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the exam dates of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC NET) for the June 2025 session. As per the earlier schedule, the exam was scheduled to be held on July 26, 27, and 28, 2025, in multiple shifts.
The exam will be held on a single day.
The testing agency will now conduct the competitive examination to determine the eligibility of candidates for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in scientific fields on July 28, 2025. Earlier, the CSIR-UGC NET 2025 exam was scheduled to be held on July 26, 27, and 28, 2025, in multiple shifts.
This decision of the NTA comes after many candidates raised the issue of a clash of dates of the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2024 and CSIR-UGC NET 2025 on July 26 and 27.
The testing agency said in an official statement, “In the interest of the candidates, the joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2025 exam will be conducted on a single day, on July 28 only.”
City slip will be released 8 to 10 days in advance
The NTA also informed that candidates will get information about their exam city through the Advance City Intimation Slip, which will be released 8-10 days before the exam on the official website.
The UGC CSIR NET exam is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and consists of three parts:
Part A – General Aptitude
Part B – Subject-specific MCQs
Part C – Higher-order Analytical Questions
The paper will be of a total of 200 marks and candidates will have to complete it in 3 hours. Negative marking is applicable, usually 25% marks for each wrong answer. However, it may slightly vary as per the section and subject.
