DUSU Scholarships For Female Students: Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) has started a unique initiative on the auspicious occasion of Navratri, under which scholarships have been announced for female students who have achieved outstanding achievements in various fields. Under this initiative, DUSU will give an amount of Rs 11,000 to a deserving female student every day for nine days. Today is the third day of Navratri, so far this amount has been given to three students.
The DUSU Female Student Scholarship Program aims to empower women and honor their academic excellence. Under the DUSU Scholarship Program, a total scholarship of Rs 99,000 will be given to the female student. An amount of Rs 11,000 will be given to an eligible female student every day for nine days of Navratri. Delhi University female students can submit their certificates of achievements through Google Forms till March 31. A student of this scholarship will be selected based on the evaluation of applicants based on academic performance, leadership ability, and talent.
Who can be eligible?
This scholarship is for those girl students who have excelled in fields like studies, sports, NCC, dance, singing, debate/quiz, literary writing, and painting. Apart from this, Divyang (PWD) female students have also been included in this scheme. This initiative started under the leadership of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is an effort to encourage female students who make a positive contribution to society.

Challenge of admission to Delhi University
Recently, the Ministry of Education told the Parliament that in the last three years (2022-2024), about five lakh students failed to get admission to Delhi University. State Education Minister Sukanta Majumdar said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that during this period a total of 4,64,870 applicants could not get admission due to limited seats. This figure reflects the increasing demand and lack of resources at Delhi University.
