The rainy season is going on, and in such a situation, while going to the office or somewhere, you can suddenly get caught in the rain. Using the phone with wet hands is not only difficult but can also prove to be dangerous, so today we have brought for you 10 easy and important tips, which will help in keeping your smartphone safe in the rainy season.
Use a waterproof pouch or a ziplock.
The easiest way to protect the phone from rain is to buy a good-quality waterproof mobile pouch. If you do not have that, then at least keep a ziplock bag. This can protect your phone from sudden rain or water splashes.
Do not charge the phone with wet hands.
The combination of water and electricity is deadly. If your hands or the charging port of the phone are wet, then never charge it. This poses a risk of short circuit or phone damage. There is also a risk of electric shock.
Turn on the battery saver.
In rainy and humid weather, background apps are more active on the phone, due to which the battery runs out quickly, so turn on the battery saver mode so that the phone can last longer.
If the phone gets wet, turn it off immediately.
If the phone gets wet, first of all, turn it off. Do not use a hair dryer even by mistake. Instead, wipe the phone thoroughly with a dry cloth. Keep it in silica gel packets for 24–48 hours.
Make sure to turn on cloud backup.
There is a greater risk of the phone getting damaged during the rainy season. Keep backing up your contacts, photos, WhatsApp chats and important documents in Google Drive or iCloud. Also, keep transferring data to the laptop from time to time.
Adopt anti-moisture hacks
While keeping the phone in the bag, keep silica gel packets with it or put blotting paper in the phone cover. These absorb the moisture accumulated inside the phone.
Use a rugged or water-resistant cover.
If you travel by two-wheeler or stay outdoors a lot, then definitely use an IP68-rated or military-grade cover. This protects the phone from water and shocks.
Keep cleaning the charging port.
Moisture and dust accumulate in the charging port during rain. Clean the port gently with a soft brush or blower every few days.
Avoid making calls in the rain.
Even if your phone is water-resistant, if rainwater enters the earpiece or microphone, the phone may get damaged. In such a situation, use wired earphones or Bluetooth buds to make calls.
Check the phone's temperature.
During the rainy season, the phone may overheat due to moisture. If the phone feels too hot while charging or using it, remove the charger immediately and let it cool down.
