Rs 21,000 crore, yes this is the amount that YouTube has distributed among Indian creators. This information was given by YouTube India CEO Neil Mohan in an event. At the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) held in Mumbai, Neil said that YouTube has given Rs 21,000 crore to YouTube content creators in the last three years.

Neil told that YouTube is growing very fast in India. He told that in just one year, 100 million i.e. 10 crore content has been uploaded on Indian YouTube channel. Out of these, there are 15,000 creators who have crossed the figure of 1 million subscribers.

YouTube's planning for the Indian market

Neil Mohan has announced an investment of Rs 850 crore in the next two years to further strengthen India's fast-growing creator economy. This investment is being made specifically to empower the creators of India and promote their content globally. The announcement comes at a time when Indian content has garnered 45 billion hours of watch time outside India, reflecting India's growing popularity on YouTube.

He said, "YouTube has the power to connect creators from any corner of the country to audiences across the world, and India has used this power most effectively. Today, India is emerging as an emerging 'Creator Nation', not just in films and music, and this is extremely exciting."
