British Automaker Land Rover has revealed the new Land Rover Defender Eivissa Limited edition . This new edition is inspired by the Mediterranean island of Ibiza in Spain and will be available in two variants. The Defender Eivissa edition will be limited to just six units and will be available in Sunrise and Noontide specs, featuring vibrant colours and special badges.
Land Rover says that the Defender 110 Eivissa Sunrise and Defender 90 Noontide Limited Editions capture the island's colours at different times of day. The Sunrise features a vibrant yellow paired with gloss black accents, evoking the "magical yellow of sunrise" after a festive night. In contrast, the Noontide is adorned in a light blue with white accents, reflecting the azure sky and Mediterranean sea alongside the island's whitewashed homes.
The company has not revealed any specifications and pricing of both SUVs except their unique livery and Eivissa emblems. Even details regarding the engine options and features remain unknown. Although both models look to be far from standard given the 20-inch multi spoke alloy wheels and fabric panoramic roof on the 110.
The Land Rover Defender Eivissas was made available to special guests of Land Rover at an event called ‘Destination Defender’ in Ibiza which took place from September 13 to 29. The special guests took part in activities such as off-road drives , attractions, hiking, coasteering, yoga and wellness, pool sessions, opening and closing parties, as well as various culinary experiences with local dishes. As per the company, the idea behind just six units of the Defender Eivissa is based on an old Phoenician colony that settled on the island and linked the number six to their god.
These new limited edition was showcased along side the Defender Octa V8 which was recently launched in India. The new Defender Octa is the flagship SUV in the Defender lineup and is the most powerful Defender ever with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine . The prices for the Land Rover Defender Octa start from Rs 2.65 crores (ex-showroom), in India. There’s also a special Edition One which will be sold for just one year after its launch, and this model is priced at Rs 2.85 crores (ex-showroom).
The Defender Octa is the most powerful Defender ever. The SUV is powered by BMW BMW-sourced 4.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine with mild-hybrid tech. The engine puts out 635hp of power and 750Nm of torque, with torque output increasing to 800 nm with launch control. It comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox can sprint from 0-100 kph in 4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph (both claimed). The Defender Octa features a ‘6D Dynamic’ suspension system which can also be found in the Range Rover Sport SV. It’s a hydraulic system that connects dampers across the vehicle, enabling active management of pitch and roll without a traditional anti-roll bar.
