The Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer is learnt to be available for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The left-arm pacer is the highest wicket-taker for MI and currently stands at fourth in the Purple Cap race. Boult was the most expensive buy for the five-time champions at the mega auction for INR 12.5 crore and scalped 18 wickets at an economy rate of 8.49.
Notably, the 18th edition of the IPL was suspended for a week due to the border tensions between India and Pakistan. The IPL is set to resume on May 17 with the first clash to be held at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Meanwhile, MI are still waiting for the availability of their first choice overseas players as Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch have been picked for the South Africa Test team for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia.
Cricket South Africa announced that the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) given to the Proteas players was only till May 25, the original end date of the tournament. The CSA has said the players should assemble by the end of the month to prepare for the all-important WTC final.
The other player whose availability is yet to confirmed is all-rounder Will Jacks. The England Cricket Board (ECB) has informed players to return for the ODI series at home against West Indies, starting on May 29. The rescheduled IPL stands at a clash with the series.
Speaking of MI's campaign in 2025, the team had a customary poor start before a bounced back, winning six games on the trot. At the time of the tournament's suspension, they stood at the fourth spot in the IPL 2025 points table with 14 points. Hardik Pandya and co. will aim to win the remaining two fixtures to seal a top-two spot.
