Sara Tendulkar, daughter of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has been announced as the new franchise owner of the Mumbai team in the Global e-Cricket Premier League (GEPL) for its Season 2.

Sara joins a distinguished group of entrepreneurs including Zerodha's Nikhil Kamath, Accel's Prashant Prakash and 'Shark' Peyush Bansal, further elevating the league's profile.

The GEPL has gained immense popularity with its game Real Cricket, achieving over 300 million downloads. Since its inaugural season, player registrations have surged from 200,000 to an impressive 910,000, marking the league's impressive growth and rising interest in esports, especially cricket.

The GEPL, launched by JetSynthesys, is set to host auctions for its third season in a couple of days, having concluded the season 2last month.
