Fans were left in a state of shock as news of Shefali Jariwala’s death made headlines. The ‘ Kaanta Laga’ girl passed away at the age of 42 from a cardiac arrest. Although she was rushed to the hospital, she was declared dead upon arrival.

An old interview of hers with the Times of India has gone viral. In the interview, Jariwala revealed that she was scouted by director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru when she was loitering outside her college. She also stated that her signing amount was just Rs 7,000.

Jariwala revealed her family consisted of scholars, and her parents were initially reluctant but gave in to her request. “My father was completely against it. So first, I took my mom into confidence, and then we both convinced my father. And that song turned out to be such a hit that it was like a fairy tale for me. It changed my life completely,” she said.

A few years following her rise to fame in the music video scene, Shefali Jariwala ventured into the Hindi film industry with her first appearance in a full-length feature. She stepped into Bollywood with the romantic comedy Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, where she acted alongside prominent stars such as Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Priyanka Chopra. Released in 2004, the film proved to be a massive commercial success, becoming one of the year's top-grossing blockbusters.

After featuring in several music videos post her film debut, Shefali expanded her presence on television by entering the fifth season of the celebrity dance reality show Nach Baliye. She competed alongside Parag Tyagi, who was her boyfriend at the time and is now her husband. The pair later made a return to the show during its seventh season, entering as wild card contestants, reigniting viewer interest, and showcasing their chemistry on the dance floor.

In 2018, Shefali took her talents to the digital platform, marking her debut in web series with ALT Balaji’s adult comedy Baby Come Naa. The show was helmed by director Farhad Samji and catered to an adult audience with its humorous yet risqué storyline. She portrayed a woman who becomes entangled in a romantic mess when she discovers her boyfriend, a character portrayed by Shreyas Talpade, is cheating on her with another woman.
