The viral video features content creator Sagar Thakur standing outside Bachchan’s iconic Juhu bungalow, Jalsa. In the clip, he is seen speaking to a young man purported to be a member of Bachchan’s staff. The staffer, holding a box of sweets, revealed that the megastar had given him a Diwali gift of ₹10,000. As he walked away, another individual carrying an identical sweet box appeared beside him, checking his wallet briefly before tucking it away, further fueling the online conversation about the gifts.

Reactions on social media were sharply divided. A segment of users commended Bachchan for remembering his staff during the festive season, calling the gesture considerate. However, others found the amount underwhelming. One Instagram user sarcastically questioned what could possibly be achieved with ₹10,000, while another commented that someone of Bachchan’s stature could afford to be far more generous.

A third netizen compared the amount to a domestic worker's Diwali bonus, remarking that their house help, earning ₹13,000 a month, had received the same amount as a festival bonus.

Amid the criticism, a few voices came forward in the actor’s defense. One Instagram user reasoned that generosity should be acknowledged regardless of the amount, noting that giving anything at all deserves appreciation. They argued that people are often too quick to criticize and fail to value even small acts of goodwill, emphasizing that such gestures should be taken in the right spirit.

Although the footage was filmed outside Jalsa, there remains no official confirmation regarding whether the individuals featured were actually employed by Amitabh Bachchan.
