Why did Virat Kohli fans troll Munnabhai MBBS's 'Circuit' after RCB vs GT IPL match?

Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi recently found himself at the center of an unexpected social media storm, all thanks to a case of mistaken identity involving Virat Kohli’s dismissal in an IPL 2025 match. Furious Kohli fans, believing Warsi to be responsible for their favorite cricketer’s early exit, flooded his Instagram with angry comments—mistaking him for Gujarat Titans’ bowler Arshad Khan.

The confusion erupted after Arshad Khan dismissed Virat Kohli during a high-stakes IPL clash. Disheartened by Kohli’s early departure, fans sought someone to blame, and due to a mix-up with names, their frustration was directed at the wrong Arshad. Warsi’s Instagram post, the one where he poses with his Golmaal co-star, Ajay Devgn, soon became a battleground of rage and humor, with bizarre comments blaming him for the wicket.

A comment read, “Kohli ko out kyun kiya?” One more wrote, “Kohli ko kaise out kiya!” Another commented, “Tera Kohli ne kya bigada tha?” One said, “Well bowled Arshad bhai.” One chimed in, “Cirkut bhai virat ka wicket kyun liya.” However, there were many who found the comments hilarious and even apologised to the Munnabhai MBBS star. One said, “Sorry Arshad Bhai.” One quoted the actor’s Jolly LLB dialogue and wrote, “Arshad Warsi Be like - Kon Hai ye log kaha se aate hai.”

What did Arshad Warsi had to say?
Rather than responding with anger, Warsi took the situation in stride, brushing off the misdirected outrage with humor. Meanwhile, he is gearing up for the much-anticipated release of his upcoming film Jolly LLB 3, proving that while he may not be taking wickets on the field, he’s ready to knock out audiences with his acting prowess.

Virat Kohli fans and their anger with Philips
This isn't the first time Virat Kohli's passionate fan base has misdirected their frustration. Earlier this year, during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, electronics giant Philips faced similar backlash. The uproar occurred after New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips took a spectacular one-handed catch to dismiss Kohli in a crucial match against India. The dismissal, which left Kohli and his fans stunned, happened during his landmark 300th ODI appearance—making the moment even more painful for his supporters. In their frustration, many fans mistakenly lashed out at the electronics brand Philips on Instagram, confusing it with the cricketer Glenn Phillips.

Such mix-ups highlight the unparalleled passion of Indian cricket fans, who wear their emotions on their sleeves. Whether it’s an IPL match or an international tournament, their devotion to Kohli remains steadfast—even if, at times, their frustration lands on the wrong target.
