In 2017, Nita Ambani revealed in an interview that Anant "was highly asthmatic, so we had to put him on a lot of steroids," adding that "he suffers from obesity." Due to this treatment, Anant gained a lot of weight and at one point weighed 208 kilos.

"...We are still fighting obesity. There are so many children who have this, and mothers feel shy admitting it. But I think you have to motivate your child to lose weight, as the child looks up to you all the time. Both of us went away to Los Angeles for some time to a children's obesity hospital so I could get into a routine with him," Nita revealed in the interview. In 2016, Anant's weight loss transformation amazed everyone. He had lost 108 kilos in less than 18 months.

His routine began with a rigorous 21-kilometer walk, setting a foundation for cardiovascular endurance. This was complemented by yoga, enhancing flexibility and mental focus. Weight training aimed to build muscle strength, while functional training ensured overall fitness through dynamic movements. High-intensity cardio exercises further boosted stamina and calorie burning. As for his diet, Anant Ambani adopted a disciplined approach aimed at weight loss and overall health, focusing on zero-sugar, high-protein, and low-carb foods with reduced fat content. Consuming between 1200-1400 calories daily, his diet consisted of fresh green vegetables, lentils, sprouts, pulses, and dairy products like paneer and milk. By eliminating junk foods entirely, he prioritized nutritious choices that supported his fitness goals. Losing weight healthily involves balanced eating and regular exercise. Start by creating a sustainable calorie deficit through portion control and choosing nutrient-dense foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Avoid crash diets; instead, aim for gradual weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week. Stay hydrated with water and herbal teas, which can aid digestion and curb cravings. Incorporate aerobic exercises like walking, swimming, or cycling for at least 150 minutes per week, alongside strength training to build muscle and boost metabolism. Lastly, prioritize adequate sleep and manage stress to support overall well-being and maintain long-term weight management.
