Bharuch election results 2024 live updates: Mansukh Vasava of BJP wins

NEW DELHI: Bharuch, located in Gujarat , is one of the 26 Lok Sabha constituencies. As a general category seat, it witnessed elections during the third phase on May 7th. With a voter base of approximately 1,723,353, the turnout reached 69.16%, totaling 1,191,877 votes cast.


Mansukhbhai Dhanjibhai Vasava from the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious with 608,157 votes, securing a lead of 85,696 votes over the runner-up, Chaitarbhai Damjibhai Vasava from the Aam Aadmi Party, who obtained 522,461 votes.


Dilipbhai Chhotubhai Vasava from the Bharat Adivasi Party and Sajid Yakub Munshi, an independent candidate, secured 10,014 and 9,937 votes, respectively, trailing the winner by a significant margin of over 598,000 votes. Vasava Chetanbhai Kanjibhai from the Bahujan Samaj Party received 6,324 votes, while independent candidates Navinbhai Bhikhabhai Patel and Yusuf Vali Hasanali garnered 3,453 and 3,247 votes, respectively.


Gitaben Manubhai Machhi from the Malwa Congress, along with independent candidates Miteshbhai Thakorbhai Padhiyar, Mirza Aabidbeg Yasinbeg, Ismail Ahmad Patel, Narayanbhai Liladharji Raval, and Dharmeshkumar Vishnubhai Vasava, secured votes ranging from 2,764 to 1,330. The NOTA (None of the Above) option received 23,283 votes, which was higher than the votes received by several candidates but significantly lower than the votes secured by the winner and the runner-up.

In the 2019 general election, Mansukhbhai Vasava of the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) secured victory with an impressive 637,795 votes. Sherkhan Abdulsakur Pathan emerged as the runner-up with 303,581 votes.

In the 2014 general election, Manusukhbhai Vasava maintained his stronghold, winning by 548,902 votes. His counterpart, Jayeshbhai Patel, received 395,629 votes.

The BJP has consistently maintained its dominance in this constituency. In the 2019 parliamentary elections, active participation was evident, with a total of 1,564,519 electors exercising their democratic franchise.
Bharuch Lok Sabha constituency encompasses seven legislative assembly segments: Karjan, Dediapada, Jambusar, Vagra, Jhagadiya, Bharuch, and Ankleshwar. Among these, six assembly seats are currently represented by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) holds one seat in Dediapada.
The constituency area falls within Bharuch district, and its literacy rate stands at 70.39%. Notably, there are approximately 61,004 Scheduled Caste (SC) voters (3.9%) and 605,347 Scheduled Tribe (ST) voters (38.7%).
