Indian Test team captain Shubman Gill has clarified his stand on fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah playing in the second Test match against England. Gill says that Bumrah is available for this match, but he just wants to see how Bumrah's workload can be managed in the upcoming Test matches. There has been a discussion about Bumrah's workload since the beginning of the series.

The bowling attack may look weak in Bumrah's absence.
Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir and Bumrah himself had made it clear that he would play only three matches on the England tour. India's bowling was not good in the first Test match, but Bumrah proved his usefulness by taking five wickets in the first innings of the Leeds Test. India's fast bowling attack may look weak in Bumrah's absence, but Gill has made it clear that this fast bowler is available for the second Test.
Gill's eye on the right combination
On Bumrah's availability for the second Test, Gill said in the press conference before the match that Bumrah will be available. We just want to see how his workload can be managed in the upcoming Test matches. We are looking for the right combination that can take 20 wickets and also score runs. Only after going to the field will we know the final situation and see with which combination we can enter this match.
Gill said, 'We knew before the start of the series that Bumrah would play only three matches, but we had already decided this. Yes, we will miss him, but we have made our strategy.' Before Gill, the team's assistant coach Ryan Ten Daskatte had confirmed that India's star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah would be available for the Edgbaston Test.
Daskatte had said on Monday that obviously, Bumrah will be available for the match. We knew from the beginning that he would play only three out of five matches. He has had eight days of rest since the last Test, but looking at the situation and workload, we have to see how we can manage in the next four matches. We have not made any decision on this yet.
