On April 1, the whole world celebrates 'April Fool'. That is, on this day friends, family, and relatives play pranks on each other. And when they succeed in doing so, they shout 'April Fool'. Sanjeev Goenka, the owner of Lucknow Supergiants in IPL, must also have felt cheated on the night of April 1. Goenka was fooled by none other than his team captain Rishabh Pant.

Rishabh Pant was made the most expensive player in IPL history by Sanjeev Goenka with a huge amount of 27 crores in the mega auction held in November 2024. Despite hitting such a big jackpot, Rishabh Pant's irresponsible game continues. Instead of the fee of Rs 27 crore, Rishabh Pant has not been able to score even 27 runs so far.

After getting out for 0 in the first match against Delhi Capitals and 15 in the second match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pant got out after scoring just two runs in five balls against Punjab Kings last night. When the cameraman focused on Sanjiv Goenka present on the field after Rishabh Pant was out, the face of this big industrialist of the country was pale.

After the match, Goenka came to the ground and talked to Rishabh Pant. Perhaps he is trying to understand what went wrong this time. Pant himself admitted after the match that putting less runs on the scoreboard was the reason for the defeat. Batting first after losing the toss, the host Lucknow team somehow managed to reach 171 runs.

The Super Giants scored 171 runs for seven wickets thanks to Nicholas Pooran's 44 and Ayush Badoni's 41 runs. Badoni played a key role in taking the team's score past 170 runs in the death overs by adding 47 runs in just 21 balls for the sixth wicket with Abdul Samad (27).

In reply, Punjab Kings scored 177 runs for two wickets in just 16.2 overs to win the match one-sidedly. Prabhsimran Singh played an innings of 69 runs in 34 balls with the help of three sixes and nine fours. He was well supported by captain Shreyas Iyer, who scored 52 runs in 30 balls with the help of four sixes and three fours. There was an 84-run partnership for the second wicket between the two. Iyer along with Nihal Wadhera (43 not out, 25 balls, four sixes, three fours) took the team to victory with an unbeaten partnership of 67 runs for the third wicket.
