During the holy days of Navratri, worship of the Goddess has special importance and during this time, Kanya Pujan is considered to be extremely auspicious and virtuous. Kanya Pujan can be done on any day of Navratri, but it gives special results, especially on Ashtami and Navami Tithi.

Why is Kanya Pujan necessary?
Kanya is the sprout of the creation chain of the universe and represents Mother Shakti in the form of nature. According to the scriptures, nine forms of Shakti, nine planets, and nine types of devotion play an important role in the operation of the world. To get the blessings of Maa Durga during Navratri, devotees observe fast, worship, and perform rituals, which destroy the fears, obstacles, and enemies of life and bring happiness and prosperity. It is believed that the Goddess is more pleased with Kanya Pujan than with Havan, Japa, and donation. Different types of fruits are obtained according to the Kanya Pujan done with devotion and reverence.
One Kanya is attained by worshiping one girl. Worshiping two girls gives pleasure and happiness. Worship of three girls gives all four Purusharthas (Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha) and state honor. Worship of four and five girls increases intelligence and knowledge. Worship of six girls gives success in work. Worship of seven girls gives the supreme position. Worship of eight girls gives the blessings of Ashtalakshmi. Worship of nine girls gives all kinds of opulence.
Benefits of Kanya Swaroop and their worship
It is mentioned in Durga Saptashati that Kanya Pujan should be done before Durga Pujan, after that Maa Durga should be worshipped. While worshipping Kanya in the nine days of Navratri, it should be kept in mind that the age of the girls should not be less than two years and not more than ten years.
