September 2025 Festival Calendar: Now that the new month of September is about to start, it is the ninth month of the English calendar. According to the Hindu calendar, this month will start from the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month in Jyeshtha Nakshatra and will end on the Navami date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month in Purva Ashadh Nakshatra. Pitru Paksha will start in September.
The month of September is going to be very special from a religious point of view. Pitru Paksha will start in the early days of the month. This year, Pitru Paksha will start from 07 September and end on 21 September. Tarpan and Shradh rituals are performed for 15 days in Pitru Paksha to please the ancestors and for the peace of their souls. No auspicious work of any kind is done during Pitru Paksha. In this, offering tarpan and donation to the ancestors has special significance. Pitru Paksha will end on Sarvapitre Amavasya.
Sharadiya Navratri 2025
Sharadiya Navratri will start the very next day after the end of Pitru Paksha. Shardiya Navratri will start from 22 September 2025. This time, Shardiya Navratri will start on Monday, due to which Mother will come to Earth riding an elephant. Shardiya Navratri will run from 22 September to 01 October. Nine different forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped on Navratri. On the first day of Navratri, along with Kalash Sthapana, bhajans and kirtans are recited continuously for nine days while reciting Durga Saptashati.
Eclipse in September 2025
There will be two eclipses in September. In which one will be a solar eclipse and the other a lunar eclipse. The first total lunar eclipse will occur on 7 September. According to the Hindu calendar, it will occur on the full moon date of the Shukla Paksha of the Bhadrapada month. Then on 21 September 2025, the last partial solar eclipse of the year will take place. On this day, there will be Amavasya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. According to Indian time, the eclipse will start at 10:59 pm and will end at 03:23 am.
