Actress Alia Bhatt made everyone stop and look as she sashayed down the red carpet of Cannes Film Festival 2025 on its last day, wearing Gucci's first-ever saree. But while at it, Alia faced a minor malfunction as her diamond necklace broke off in the middle of her photoshoot, but she handled it like a pro and won over the internet!
In a video which is now going viral, Alia can be seen posing on the red carpet wearing the first-ever Gucci mesh saree, studded with Swarovski crystals from top to bottom. She let the saree do all the talking, and kept the jewellery to the minimum with a diamond necklace and earrings from Malabar Gold and Diamonds.

However, while she struck some stunning poses on the red carpet, her necklace suddenly broke and was seen slipping down her neck, but the actress caught it in one swift move, all the while continuing to pose. Netizens appreciated how Alia looked unmoved by the malfunction and maintained her composure on the red carpet.
"Credits given where it’s due. She did it pretty gracefully (sic)," a netizen commented, while another wrote, "While she handled it pretty well...But, who made/gave this type of jewellery... This could be really embarrassing for her if things would have gone wrong (sic)." "Oh that's why her hand was there, i thought she was trying a new pose and she absolutely nailed it no doubt in it (sic)," a fan commented.
Alia attended the closing ceremony of Cannes 2025 as the brand ambassador of Loreal Paris, and it also marked her debut at the prestigious film festival, which was graced by the biggest names of global cinema.
For her other looks at Cannes 2025, Alia donned a Schiaparelli haute couture gown, a dazzling black Armani Prive backless dress, and a bright yellow Gucci co-ord set.
