A special camp was held at the Gram Panchayat in Lekhegaon on Aug 13 under the Government of India’s Financial Inclusion campaign, drawing a large turnout of citizens keen to avail themselves of various Central Government financial schemes.
The camp was attended by Pramod Kumar Singh, General Manager, Canara Bank Circle Office, Pune; Keshavamurthy, Assistant General Manager, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Regional Office; Pawan Sawle, Financial Inclusion Manager; Geetanjali Madam, Branch Manager, Bidkin branch; Dnyaneshwar Rahatwade, Sarpanch, Lekhegaon; BD Meshram, Secretary; and Parashar, Headmaster, Zilla Parishad school.

Read What Officials SayThe focus was on updating Know Your Customer (KYC) details, opening new bank accounts, and providing information on insurance and pension schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
“In the digital age, it is essential for every citizen to have a bank account. Through these camps, we are trying to bring banking services to every household and every person,” Singh said, urging citizens to secure their financial future by availing themselves of the schemes.

Rahatwade thanked the bank officials for organising the camp and encouraged residents to take full advantage of it.
Farmers, self-help group members, women and other officials participated in large numbers, many enrolling in schemes and clarifying their queries, making the event a success.
