Patna: Gopal Khemka, a famous businessman and a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, was shot dead outside his residence in Bihar's Patna on Friday night. The incident took place around 11.40 pm on Friday in the Gandhi Maidan locality. Hours after Khemka's murder, CCTV footage of the crime has surfaced online. He was shot dead by a man wearing a helmet.
In the CCTV footage, it could be seen that a man wearing a black helmet was standing outside the businessman's house. After a few moments, two cars arrived outside the main gate of the building. One of the cars was reportedly driven by Khemka, while the second car was driven by another man.

As Khemka was waiting for the iron gate of his building to be opened by the guard, the assailant immediately rushed towards his car and opened fire at him. After the firing, the accused could be seen fleeing from the spot.
After opening the door, the guard found lying on the steering wheel, reported NDTV. Khemka died on the spot.
The incident took place ook place near the 'Panache' Hotel under the jurisdiction of the Gandhi Maidan police station. Khemka lived in the 'Twin Tower' society.

Notably, the businessman's son, Gunjan Khemka, was murdered six years ago.
