Indore: Devotees To Face Disruptions Due To Service Road Repair Near Khajrana Temple

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Devotees travelling to the Khajrana Ganesh Temple will face difficulties accessing the service road for the next month due to ongoing repair work.

Indore Municipal Corporation has commenced repairs on the service road extending from Khajrana Square to the temple, aiming to complete the project within 25 days to one month before the onset of the monsoon.

Additional municipal commissioner Abhay Rajangaonkar stated that a budget of Rs 3 crore had been sanctioned by the Indore Development Authority (IDA) for road repairs, which has now been approved. The allocated budget will be utilised to improve various roads, though work on Subhash Marg and Chhawani area is yet to begin. Meanwhile, repair work has commenced in Malviya Nagar.

While the service road will remain closed during the repair period, the main road will remain operational, providing partial relief to commuters. Devotees visiting the temple will need to use an alternate route passing through Khajrana village.

The condition of the service road had deteriorated significantly due to ongoing flyover construction, further delaying necessary repairs. The responsibility for the roadwork was initially assigned to the IDA; however, the authority handed over the task to the IMC after providing the necessary budget allocation. Delays were also attributed to the shifting of drainage and water supply pipelines along the route.
