Panvel: The Panvel Municipal Corporation felicitated Firefighter Shubhangi Ghule for bringing international glory to India and her city by securing multiple medals at the prestigious 21st World Police and Fire Games 2025, held recently in Alabama, USA.
Ghule bagged bronze in the Ultimate Firefighting Challenge and silver in the team Fire Stair Race, earning global recognition for India and Panvel
Representing India and the Panvel Fire Department, Ghule won a bronze medal in the highly challenging -Ultimate Firefighting Challenge, a competition that tests speed, strength, and precision under high-pressure rescue scenarios. She had also clinched a silver medal in the team category of the -Fire Stair Race, showcasing exceptional coordination and stamina.

In addition, Ghule achieved a fourth place finish in the individual Firefighting Challenge and fifth place in the individual Fire Stair Race all against a backdrop of participants from over 50 countries, competing in what is considered one of the most rigorous professional skill events globally.
Recognizing her outstanding achievements, Panvel Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Mangesh Chitale felicitated Ghule during a civic meeting on July 22. Congratulating her on elevating Panvel’s and India’s name on the world stage, Chitale assured continued support and specialized training opportunities for fire personnel aiming to compete in national and international events.
