Jaipur: Syed Naseeruddin Chishti, successor of Ajmer Dargah's Diwan Syed Zainul Abedin and Chairman of All India Sufi Sajjadanashin has supported the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 and said that the bill is in the interest of Muslims.

“Amendment in the bill will protect the properties of Waqf and stop the corruption. People opposing the bill have a democratic right to do so, but they should not provoke the sentiments of Muslims.,” said Syed Naseeruddin Chishti to the media in Ajmer on Wednesday.

Chishti said that Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 is better and is in the interest of Muslims and Waqf properties as it brings transparency in the management of Waqf properties.

Cornering the people who are allegedly misleading on the provisions of the Bill, Chishti said, "one can oppose the Bill, but in the name of the bill, people are being misled that dargahs, mosques and imambaras will be taken away, and government interference will increase, which is absolutely wrong as the government was always there in terms of appointments of chairman and CEO of the Waqf Board.”
