Thane: A 25-year-old biker and a riding pillion suffered serious injuries after hitting a divider on the road in Bhiwandi early Saturday morning. The injured have been identified as Deepak Bhimrao Kharat, the biker, and Akash Gore, the riding pillion, both of whom are residents of the Sangamlada area in Bhiwandi.
The incident took place on ST Road near Kirti Hotel in Bhiwandi on Saturday at 5 AM, when the biker Kharat, who was recklessly drove and hit the divider on the road, which resulted in them falling on the road and lying in a pool of blood. Upon seeing this, a passerby rushed to the spot, alerted the local police, and took them to a nearby hospital where they were being treated.
The police said that Kharat suffered serious internal chest injuries while Gore suffered serious injuries to his head and face. Kharat was in critical condition while Gore was out of danger.
A case was filed under section 281, 125(B) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against biker Kharat at the Nizampura Police Station. Further investigation is ongoing.
