Thane: A 47-year-old woman from Kalyan who had tested positive for COVID-19 died at a private hospital in Kalyan. The woman was admitted to the hospital, treatment was started, and her swab sample was taken for testing. She passed away that same night. The COVID-19 report came after her death and indicated that she had contracted COVID-19.
According to the health officer, a woman had typhoid complications and was admitted to a hospital on May 22. She had taken medicine from local physicians, but she could not be cured and was later admitted to the hospital.
The body was handed over to her family members for final rites in her village. They informed her family members that she had contracted COVID-19 and instructed them to exercise caution in adherence to COVID-19 norms.
Deepa Shukla, a health officer from Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation, stated that a total of four cases were reported in the city. Out of these four, one passed away, one was referred to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, and one was being treated in a private hospital, while one was discharged after treatment.
The Health Department of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation said that a total of ten-bed isolation rooms were set up in Rukhmani Bai Hospital and a total of five-bed isolation rooms were set up in Shashtri Nagar Hospital in Dombivli. They have sufficient medicine and oxygen available in the hospital. The RTPCR laboratory has been functioning now.
Six new Covid-19 cases were reported in Thane city on Monday, with a total of 36 patients across the city. Although eleven cases were reported on Sunday, nine cases were reported on Saturday, and ten cases were reported earlier.
The Health Department of TMC stated that out of the 36 patients, three have been under home quarantine for five days. A total of nine patients are admitted to the hospital, and treatment is underway; their health conditions are stable.
Out of these nine, two have been admitted to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, while seven have been admitted to a private hospital in Thane. A total of 23 patients are under home quarantine and are stable.
It is notable that this was the second case of death from COVID-19. On Saturday; a 21-year-old man from Mumbra, who had tested positive for COVID-19, died at the state government-run Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa.
